About McInnis Insurance Agency, Offering Auto, Homeowners and Commercial Insurance
McInnis Insurance Agency, Inc. has been providing insurance to businesses and families in northwest Louisiana since 1924. We are an established agency that has been around long enough to provide coverage to the grandchildren of our first clients, and yet young enough to use the latest and greatest resources to get you the best quotes.
In addition to providing top-notch personal and commercial insurance services, we are also affiliated with McInnis Construction, a company that has built bridges, graded roads and constructed buildings throughout the south for over 40 years. Because of this relationship, we have a unique understanding of the needs of contractors, and can provide insurance coverage tailored to builders, remodelers, road construction outfits and other contracting services.
The McInnis Insurance Agency Legacy in Louisiana and Beyond
McInnis Insurance Agency was formed in 1924 by John L. McInnis to serve the personal insurance and business insurance needs of Webster, Claiborne and Bienville Parishes. John’s sons, Harry and John, Jr., became actively involved in running the agency, and in 1945 they took on the management of McInnis Insurance.
From the beginning, the agency was focused on meeting the specific needs of home, auto and business owners in Louisiana and providing superior customer service, all of which has led to steady growth in our clientele through referrals and word of mouth.
Between 1945 and 1973, our portfolio of insurance companies continued to grow with the addition of many of the top carriers. Meanwhile, our client base spread to all areas of the state. Then in 1973, Harry’s son, Philip, took the helm and led the agency through its next growth phase.
Under Philip’s leadership, the agency’s business and personal client base has expanded out of state to include Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi in our growing service area.
Today our dedicated staff is located in two offices near the Shreveport, LA area.
